Bree has been chosen for such wide-ranging uses as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the US, the branding for the country of Peru, and numerous layouts including mobile apps, magazines, newspapers, and books. Bree is in the perfect position for the next digital revolution. The complete Bree font family, along with our entire catalogue, has been optimised for today’s varied screen uses. Additionally, Bree was designed in variable font format for those who want complete control over the font’s appearance while simultaneously saving digital weight in the form of kilobytes and megabytes. More than that, Vietnamese support was added to Bree Latin, and the Bree Greek and Bree Cyrillic scripts were designed from scratch to parallel the Latin’s tone. A few shapes were updated or added (the ‘k’ and German capital ‘ß’), two entirely new weights were added (Book and Book Italic), and spacing was perfected. All this adds up to a big personality, so even when set in small text there is no skimming past the words Bree voices. In 2019, the Bree font family got a huge update. Category: Serif Fonts / Classic Fonts EB Garamond Font Pairs: Roboto, Open Sans, Montserrat. Pair it with a light sans serif font like Raleway or Open Sans to really make the header pop. Bree has a touch of cheekiness, a wide stance for each character, and an extra-large x-height. Like with Cardo, this classic free serif font can be used as a header or body font in your designs. Alternates of these letters are available when a more neutral look is desired. As such, some of its most characteristic features are the single-story ‘a’, the cursive ‘e’, the outstroke curves of ‘v’ and ‘w’, the flourished ‘Q’, and the fluid shapes of ‘g’, ‘y’, and ‘z’. Bree is clearly influenced by handwriting. As an upright italic, Bree shows a pleasant mix of rather unobtrusive capitals with more vivid lowercase letters, giving text a lively appearance. The Bree font family is a spry sans serif by Veronika Burian and José Scaglione that delivers a spirited look and feel for branding and headline usage. Have both players select Start Battle to begin. I know so many young people who see people like myself and other young(ish) business people and want to be successful too. It’s so super important that you not get into this business out of either desperation or lethargy. In total, I make a pretty decent income, but not a giant one. What they don’t realize is that I have to pay for insurance, hired equipment, my assistant, petrol, the cost of producing the end-product, etc. I find it so funny when folks think I’m rich because I charge £2k for a wedding. Although camera equipment is expensive, this can be a relatively low overhead business to run once you have acquired your gear and this makes it appealing for those who see it as a great way to finance a very expensive hobby or have a flexible part-time job. With the proliferation of affordable DSLRs, photography has quickly become a business-in-a-box for many. What I’d like to talk about today is the realities of going pro and the one thing you need to do to safely quit your day job. Ditto, Darren! The eBook is amazing and gives you so much of the information you may be craving. You can also pinch the notifications to switch between the three Display As options. When Darren launched the new dPS ebook – Going Pro recently, he said that the majority of the emails he gets are about how to start making money as a photographer. To go back to the old notification style, choose the List option. List: Notifications appear fully across your screen.Stack: Notifications appear in a stack at the bottom of the screen.Count: Notifications appear as a numbered count at the bottom of the screen. If you want to go back to the way notifications appeared on iOS 15, launch the Settings application and go to Notifications > Display As. However, not everyone may be happy with this change. Instead of appearing at the top of your lock screen, notifications now appear at the bottom, which you can then tap on to appear full screen. Go back to using old iPhone lock screen notificationsĪpple's latest redesign brings widgets, customizable fonts and colors, a wallpaper gallery and stylized date and time to the lock screen, as well as one overlooked change to notifications. This feature is hidden in the Accessibility section of your settings. If you do hit the side button accidentally, your screen will go to sleep, but you'll stay on your phone call, uninterrupted. In Settings, go to Accessibility > Touch and toggle off Lock to End Call to prevent the side button from ending your calls. If that's something you've encountered in the past, iOS 16 finally allows you to prevent that from happening. The side/power button on the side of your iPhone allows you to quickly sleep and wake up your device, but if you accidentally hit it during a phone call, you'll prematurely end your call. Keep from accidentally ending your own phone calls Once Show Featured Content is turned off, featured photos and memories across your device should disappear. All featured content will no longer appear across your device - instead, it'll only be available in your photo library and albums. To block these tailored photos, launch the Settings app, go into Photos and toggle off Show Featured Content. With iOS 16, you can now prevent Featured Photos, as well as curated collections known as Memories, from appearing in photo widgets on your home screen and the Search and For You sections in Photos. Stop unexpected (and embarrassing) photo popups on your iPhone screenĪpple's artificial intelligence helps surface photos and videos in various places across your iPhone, as a reminder of family vacations, couple photos and holidays - but you may not always want your personal pictures to pop up unexpectedly, especially if they're private, embarrassing or inappropriate. The Search bubble should disappear, replaced by a few small dots representing your various home screens.Įven if you remove the Search button, you can still access the feature by swiping down from anywhere on your home screen. Simply launch the Settings app, go to Home Screen and toggle off Show on Home Screen to remove the search button from your home screen. However, the new search button is easy to accidentally trigger, because it's near where your thumb might go when you swipe between your various home pages.īut, like many new features on iOS 16, you can turn this setting off. With iOS 16, Apple adds another way to access Search from the home screen, via a small button right above your dock. MOV recordingĬertainly it’s not something you can drop into your favorite podcast directory or use as a shortcut for making interview podcasts, but if you’re comfortable in GarageBand or Audacity, you can adjust the levels and normalize the channels to make a good recording.Īs Glen, the programmer, suggests: “The easiest way to split out the tracks is to use the provided “Split Movie Tracks” utility, which is installed to Application/Movie Tools. The audio quality is a bit tricky to work with, though, because I found that the two tracks weren’t balanced, as you can hear in this tiny sample recording: Click here to listen to a short sample. Once you do enable automatic call recording, whether they’re video conferences or just audio, they all show up in the “Saved Calls” folder with the name of the other party and a date/time stamp: This can be changed in Preferences, along with a lot of other features, including enabling the auto-record-all-calls feature: Easy enough!īy default, the program saves all call recordings in a “Saved Calls” subfolder in your Documents folder: Once the call is connected, everything activates and the big red “Record” button becomes clickable. I asked my friend Mari Smith to help me with a quick demo of the audio recording capabilities and here’s how that looked… In fact, if you set it up properly, it’ll automatically record every call, meaning you can just focus on what you’re talking about or demonstrating, and not worry about the recording at all. The Ecamm Recorder is very easy to use, and you can get it for only $30.I’ve worked with a lot of different apps and most of them end up causing you to do things differently, to compensate for having them installed, but Call Recorder is one of the few I’ve seen where once installed, it’s a plug and forget app: a little recording window just pops up every time you launch Skype and you can click the “record” button at any time to start recording the Skype conversation (or video chat!) you’re involved with. On the lower right corner you’ll see Export As. Click the drop down menu to choose the file type you want your video to be. Click Export. The Ecamm Movie Tools window will pop up. Click the magnifying class icon beside the recording button to find your recently saved video.Once you’re done, click the big red dot to stop recording.Just hit the big red dot to start recording.Once you’re done playing around with the settings, close it and make a call.If you want to record the other person giving a testimonial, for example, it’s best to choose the Remote only option. For this tutorial, I’ll be choosing Split Screen, which is ideal if you’re on a coaching call or recording an interview. Options include Local only (you), Remote only (the other person) and Split Screen (both). Under Recording Options, you’ll see Record Video. Click the drop down menu beside it to choose which video you want to record. This is where you’ll choose the settings you want your recorded video to have, like video quality, image size, frame rate, etc. Click the cog icon in the Call Recorder window. Then you can mix them together when editing. I prefer multi-track, which records two separate videos – one of each caller. Start Skype. You’ll see the Call Recorder window pop up beside it.ĮCamm allows you to choose what to record.Stop the recording before wrapping up your interview or coaching session. Create a test recording to make sure you’re happy with the video quality you’re getting at the end of the call. Or if it seems like their voice isn’t getting picked up, they should move closer to their mic. If the volume always reaches the red bar, the other person might have to move a bit further away from their microphone. I usually ask them to count from one to ten while looking at the audio volume. After you hit the record button and before diving into your interview or coaching session, test the other person’s audio.Get the other person’s permission before recording the call. Today I’m show you how to use this $30 tool to help you in your practice.Īssuming you already know how to use Skype, here’s the step-by-step process on how to use the Ecamm Call Recorder. If you want to record your coaching calls to keep for yourself or send to clients, you can use an add-on tool called Call Recorder for Skype by Ecamm (Mac only). Do you use Skype to make audio or video calls in your coaching business? In August 2020, Intuit QuickBooks Canada was expected to reveal intentions to partner with Digital Main Street, as the company aims to help digitally turn Canadian small businesses. Smith will remain chairman of Intuit's board of directors. In August 2018, the company announced that Sasan Goodarzi would become Intuit's leader and CEO at the beginning of 2019. Īs of May 2018, Intuit had more than US$5 billion in annual revenue and a market capitalization of about US$50 billion. In June 2015, the firm laid off approximately 5% of its workforce as part of a company reorganization. In June 2013, Intuit announced it would sell its financial services unit to private equity firm Thoma Bravo for $1.03 billion. It also divested itself of its online bill payment service unit and extended and strengthened its partnership with CheckFree. Among others, it purchased a large stake in Excite and acquired Lacerte Software, a Dallas-based developer of tax preparation software used by tax professionals. The company made a number of investments around this time. In response, Intuit launched new web-based products and put more emphasis on QuickBooks and on TurboTax. When the buyout fell through because of the United States Department of Justice's disapproval, the company came under intense pressure in the late 1990s when Microsoft started to compete vigorously with its core Quicken business. The time after the IPO was marked by rapid growth and culminated with a buyout offer from Microsoft in 1994 at this time Intuit's market capitalization reached US$2 billion. In 1993 Intuit went public and used the proceeds to make a key acquisition: the tax-preparation software company Chipsoft based in San Diego. Roughly around the same time the company engaged John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins and diversified its product lineup. This was the first time a software company offered a rebate. To win retailers' loyalty, Intuit included a US$15 rebate coupon, redeemable on software customers purchased in their stores. In 1991, Microsoft decided to produce a competitor to Quicken called Microsoft Money. The first version of Quicken was coded in Microsoft's BASIC programming language for the IBM PC and UCSD Pascal for the Apple II by Tom Proulx and had to contend with a dozen serious competitors. The two started Intuit, which initially operated out of a modest room on University Avenue in Palo Alto. On his quest to find a programmer he ended up running into Tom Proulx at Stanford. Intuit was conceived by Scott Cook, whose prior work at Procter & Gamble helped him realize that personal computers would lend themselves towards replacements for paper-and-pencil based personal accounting. The company was founded in 1983 by Scott Cook and Tom Proulx in Palo Alto, California. 4.1.2 Discontinued products of Intuit Canada.4.1.1 Current products of Intuit Canada.Intuit has lobbied extensively against the IRS providing taxpayers with free pre-filled forms, as is the norm in developed countries. In 2019, investigations by ProPublica found that Intuit deliberately steered taxpayers from the free TurboTax Free File to the paid TurboTax Free Edition using tactics including search engine delisting and a deceptive discount targeted to members of the military. Intuit offers a free online service called TurboTax Free File as well as a similarly named service called TurboTax Free Edition which is not free for most users. As of 2019, more than 95% of its revenues and earnings come from its activities within the United States. Intuit's products include the tax preparation application TurboTax, personal finance app Mint, the small business accounting program QuickBooks, the credit monitoring service Credit Karma, and email marketing platform Mailchimp. The company is headquartered in Mountain View, California, and the CEO is Sasan Goodarzi. is an American business software company that specializes in financial software. One writes that it’s “not something I’d have to worry about side-swapping someone with as I walk past. “Compact” is a word that comes up in lots of reviews of this holster-style camera bag, and that low profile has a lot of advantages, according to reviewers. The padding is perfect: closed-cell foam in the right thickness to protect without adding unnecessary bulk.” The styling is understated as it should be. One “retired professional wildlife and nature photographer” writes, “Over the past 40 years I’ve probably used 25 different camera bags, many of them the backpack style necessary to carry big, heavy SLRs and their lenses on treks and overseas trips.” But now that he’s just a hobbyist, he wanted a smaller bag that can still fit all his equipment but isn’t quite so bulky: “This medium bag is amazingly well designed and constructed and a joy to use. One reviewer keeps a camera, two extra lenses, two lens covers, a UV filter, microfiber cloths, a camcorder and a flash in the case, pleased that, “Everything fits in there very comfortably and securely.” Another reviewer appreciates that “there’s a plethora of other pockets available throughout this bag” aside from the main compartment, which allows each accessory to have a designated spot. With nearly 3,000 five star reviews, this large camera bag got high marks for its ample storage. My cameras are less protected than in my Tamarac bag, but much more portable.” Another reviewer describes this as a “great little on-the-go bag that I plan to use for hiking and backpacking.” And though they’re pleased with the padding to protect their Nikon D80, they add, “Not sure of its durability or ruggedness yet, but for what I paid, I won’t complain if it lasts even just 5 or 6 months.” And dozens of reviewers agree that this camera bag is a good value for the price, even though it’s not the most “We are trying to live a week with a carry-on. I have a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm lens and a ‘must’ 55-200 zoom,” explains one reviewer, adding that his main reason behind buying this bag is how easy it is to travel with. “I can’t leave my ‘good camera’ behind when I travel. Not only is it inexpensive, but it’s also large enough to store a heavy duty DSLR and it’s padded for extra protection, which comes especially useful when on the road. I can fit all the gear I need for a shoot, plus my laptop if I do happen to need, along with my keys, phone, wallet, and some snacks.” Another wanted a backpack to “haul my camera equipment around and keep my hands free on an overseas trip,” and says that this one fit the bill:, “The interior padding is versatile and allows good creation of specialized spaces and ease of weight distribution, and the body straps are very comfortable and easy to adjust.” And a third reviewer celebrates that this backpack is “exactly” what they wanted, and loves how much they can fit inside: They go on to say this backpack fits a Canon T6i, lenses a cell phone, camera software, a laptop and an iPad “comfortably.” The main compartment has adjustable dividers so that all your gear fits perfectly. She describes this backpack as a “much needed upgrade,” explaining, “It has plenty of space for exactly what I need in a compact backpack. “The problem with my cross-body bag is that it started to get heavy and strained my shoulder,” one portrait photographer writes. I'll assume traditional animation tools, because Wakfu has specific visual hints to everything about it that it's done with Flash.Ĭlick to expand. As far as enjoyment, I think this might be the one to recommend to people if they wanted to check out something from the studio without being too involved in the universe or jumping into either Wakfu or Dofus as a whole as it's a bit of investment. I can't find information on whether this was done in Flash or with traditional animation. The fight scenes and scenery were superb. Visually this is hands down the most impressive piece of animation that Studio Ankama has produced. A character whose design I loved when I first saw him. I thought it would star Kerub once again with Joris as a secondary character, but to my delight and surprise it stars Joris. It deals with the return of Julith, aka 'The Butcher', an all powerful guardian of one of the dofus on her mission (that's a secret! But i'll never tell~). Studio Ankama, same studio that makes the games, the Wakfu and Dofus tv series and this film really are like the top dog of French animation.īook I: Julith is the film that takes place a few years after the tv series. I first discovered this whole universe when somebody in Offtopic posted in the 'Badass western animation' thread on GAF with a video of one of the battles in the film. The TV series looks like it'd be a gorgeous television show for kids to watch and laugh and eat les poissons les poissons as they watch the adventures of le petit meow meow. I started watching that but lost interest because I don't really care to watch 52 episodes of adventures that had little relevance to much besides expanding on past adventures of characters I didn't even know, all with a humorous tone to them. There is a tv series that is essentially a highly episodic group of 52 episodes (Each 13 minutes) where Kerub (the old cat) tells his adoptive son of various adventures in his youth in their treasure store. For this movie you don't really need much background or knowledge. Ecaflip finally understood that he can't keep Kerub from the world and so he let him go.īefore he left, Ecaflip let Kerub keep the ball of wool and gave him great luck.Joris. But when Kerub destroy Ecaflip's favourite ball of wool Ecaflip exploded with rage and nearly ended up killing Kerub, only to find that Kerub didn't really destroy the ball, but hid it in his bag. Kerub then started stealing from the God and insulting the Being to his face, all in a bid to humilate him. After he found out that there was no escape, he decided that the only way out was to get banished from the temple. If anything, Kerub became Ecaflip's favorite son for his great courage and mostly for making him laugh.Īfter a few years with Ecaflip Kerub grow bored and decided he would leave the temple and become an adventurer, but Ecaflip refused (because the god had grown very attached to the little Ecaflip) to let Kerub leave the temple. Of course Ecaflip didn't fall for it, but he didn't punish Kerub either. Kerub then tried to improvise, by tricking Ecaflip with a copy of the egg made from string. He was tasked with retrieving a hog egg but due to his clumsiness he broke it on the last day of the quest. During his time there he took place in the Quest of two mornings (a test that needs to be completed in two days). It known that Kerub spent most of his childhood in the Ecaflip temple as a disciple of the god Ecaflip. Kerub would be killed, but reincarnated as a kitten to be raised by Joris as their father-son bond became reversed. A great part of his early life is exposed in the animated series Dofus: Kerub's Bazaar, where he tells stories of his adventures to his adopted son Joris after having retired in Astrub and opened a store to sell the various treasures he has accumulated. His most remarkable quality is the exceptional luck that has been bestowed upon him by the god Ecaflip, a luck that has often been the vector of his success and fame.Īs a child, he was raised as an orphan in Ecaflip's temple, unaware of his divine heritage. As a demigod, he has lived numerous centuries and appeared in several media. Kerub Crepin is an adventurer-turned-shopkeeper and one of Ecaflip's sons.
